I have had horses since I was in high school. They have been a major part of my life for many years, first as a youth, then as an amateur exhibitor, and later as a breeder, trainer, and judge. I value the many friendships I have made and the people I would not have met if not involved with the horses and ponies.
I have travelled nationally as well as to Canada and New Zealand judging, and have had the honor or adjudicating the AMHA World Show, the AMHR National Championships, and ASPC Shetland Congress several times each.
My years of club involvement have been recognized by the various clubs, and I have been honored to receive awards honoring my from our local Valley Sierra Miniature Horse Club (AMHR), a lifetime membership from NorCal Miniature Horse Club (AMHA), and being named to the ASPC/AMHR Peoples Hall of Fame. I presently serve on the Board of Directors of ASPC/AMHR.
Unfortunately, times do change, and so do our lives. The term "Jim Curry Training Center" is no longer accurate as I no longer train for others. JC Tack no longer exists, as I have sold the business as well as the ranch. I am still judging, and while most of my animals are available for purchase, I am retaining one stallion and three unrelated mares.
In some form or other, horses and ponies will always be part of my life.
